Ski Santa Fe Resort
New Mexico
Santa Fe Ski Area is located just 16 miles northeast of the Historic Plaza of the City of Santa Fe, N.M.
Nestled in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in the Santa Fe National Forest at a base elevation of 10,350 feet, this high desert ski area has challenges for skiers of all ability levels.
An average annual snowfall of 225 inches provides some of the best powder skiing in the Southwest.
From the 12,000-foot peak, the views span to Arizona and Colorado. Wooded trails, basins and groomed slopes fan out around a semicircular bowl, then funnel into the base area.
Adaptive Skiing
An adaptive skier program for those with physical and mental challenges is offered at the area through the Lovelace Hospital and Lovelace Auxiliary. The support of sponsors and volunteers makes it possible to offer private lessons, equipment and lifts at a nominal fee.
Santa Fe has a PSIA-registered ski school with a staff of 100 plus instructors. Chipmunk Corner Children's Center offers day care (by reservation) for infants and toddlers and ski instruction for those 3 and older.
Just a short 25-minute drive will bring you to one of the Southwest's most exciting cities, Santa Fe, N.M., where you will find a variety of lodging, first-rate restaurants, shopping, night life and a wide choice of cultural activities.
